Pineapples 2026 Shortlist: Queen's Market and Square
JA Project’s Queen’s Market and Square project for London Borough of Newham has been shortlisted in the Public Space Awards category at The Pineapples 2026 awards for place.
The Pineapples recognises projects that make a positive contribution to the quality of place, with 129 finalists selected across 20 categories this year. Shortlisted teams will present to the judges during the live-streamed Festival of Pineapples (24–26 February 2026), with winners announced on 22 April at Trinity Buoy Wharf, London.
Now in its eighth year, The Pineapples takes its name from the pineapple — a long-standing architectural symbol of prosperity and welcome, reflected in the golden pineapples atop St Paul’s Cathedral. Founded by The Developer’s editor-in-chief Christine Murray and co-founder James MacLeod, the awards recognise projects at all stages of development that contribute positively to urban life.
